The passports of Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands will be made in Greece!
The citizens of Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands shall have made-in-Greece passports!
The project was designated by public tender to the consortium of the mother company Veridos and its associate in Denmark, idpeople. The contract term shall be for seven years.
Such countries are added to the list of more than forty countries already trusting the production of highest security state documents to Greece and to Veridos Matsoukis S.A.
The new, modern electronic passports are produced in accordance with the highest security standards of the European Union and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The passport shall consist of 32 pages including a polycarbonate data page and an electronic chip. A total of seven different passport types shall be available: a standard Danish national passport, a diplomatic passport, a service passport, an alien's passport, a travel document for refugees, national passports for citizens of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and a paper-based emergency passport.
Production at Veridos Matsoukis S.A. facilities at Ilion starts right away and the first passports are to be issued in October 2021.
"Veridos Matsoukis S.A.", stated Mr. Dimitris Matsoukis, CEO of the company, "is the only private organization in the Greek territory and the broader geographic area, disposing the facilities and know-how (certified by the most prestigious entities) necessary for the production of security documents under the highest standards. Employing 300 people and with an annual turnover that in 2020 exceeded 50 million euros and almost entirely connected to exportations, we assure an important income for the Greek Economy".
And he added:

Shall boost our country’s productive tissue and the Greek Economy

And all the above under the constant value of identity cards and passports quality, which is vital for the citizens’ lives and our country’s security and prestige."
